This tour takes in many "off the beaten track" places in between Cairns and Darwin. The itinerary is designed to offer flexibility to the group and not a strict "point to point" drive. You will take in all the "must see" places from Darwin down to the Never Never before crossing through the expanse of the Gulf Country visiting the World Heritage Kakadu National Park, Hells gate and Litchfield National Park on the way to Cairns. This is an amazing Safari visiting some of the most remote and little know areas of North. Please note This is a mix of motel/cabins plus camping for your accommodation sections of the trip.

Itinerary
DAY 1 (LD) DARWIN, LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK.
Depart Palms Motel Darwin (Our meeting point) at 7.30am and make our way to Berry Springs and start the dirt road circuit to Litchfield National Park (Road closure depending) for our camp at Wangi Falls and spend the late afternoon exploring and swimming

DAY 2 (BLD) LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK, BATCHELOR.
Today we spend the day in Litchfield National Park visiting some of the wonders of the park being Tomler Falls and Florence Falls etc. Travelling on to Batchelor to stay in our Budget Air conditioned accommodation and a camp cooked meal.

DAY 3 (BL) BATCHELOR, KAKADU NATIONAL PARK.
Today we are on the way to Kakadu. Early on in our travel we cross the South Alligator River one of the major rivers of Kakadu. We will visit a Bird Hide to see what birds are in the area. On to the Bowali Visitors Centre. Our accommodation is at Gagudju Cooinda Lodge for our budget air conditioned comfort rooms for 2 nights. (1st night, Dinner at own cost) (Laundry facilities)

DAY 4 (BLD) KAKADU, GAGUDJU.
Early this morning we do the renowned Yellow Water boat cruise to see crocodiles, bird life and the habitat of this region. After breakfast we head on to explore more of the park including Jabiru, Ubirr and the Boarder Store before returning to our accommodation for camped cooked meal.

DAY 5 (BLD) KAKADU, GUNLOM FALLS.
Today is another short travel day. We visit Naurlangie Rock and view some art and spectacular scenery and then visit Warradjan Aboriginal Culture Centre to discover some of the Aboriginal heritage of the area our camp tonight is at Gunlom Fall still in Kakadu National Park. We can walk this afternoon up the steep climb to some beautiful pools above the campground we can swim at the top pools also at a pool near the camp ground for a cooling afternoon. DAY 6 (BLD) GUNLOM FALLS, EDITH FALLS.
We follow the Kakadu Highway to Pine Creek on the Stuart Highway then make our way to beautiful Edith Falls where we set up camp and relax in the large pool with its beautiful scenery or take a walk to the higher pools. (Laundry facilities)

DAY 7 (BLD) EDITH FALLS, ROPER BAR.
Today we travel onto Katherine where we will have to re supply. Then on to Bitter Springs and its thermal water then passing on to Mataranka, where we visit the Elsey cemetery renowned in "We of the Never Never" continuing on to Roper Bar for our camp tonight.

DAY 8 (BLD) ROPER BAR, LIMMEN NATIONAL PARK.
After leaving Roper Bar today we cross some of the gulf river systems through this isolated country, tonight we will set up camp in the New Limmen National Park.

DAY 9 (BLD) LIMMEN NATIONAL PARK, CAPE CRAWFORD.
Today we are on our way to Cape Crawford crossing more of the gulf country on the Savannah Way and visiting some of the sites of this area. Our camp for the next 2 nights at Heart break Hotel. (Laundry Facilities)

DAY 10 (BLD) CAPE CRAWFORD, LOST CITY.
During today we take a short helicopter flight and visit the stunning Lost City where we walk with a local guide to learn more about this area. This is a stunning experience

DAY 11 (BLD) CAPE CRAWFORD, HELLS GATE.
Our objective today is Hells Gate with a supply stop at Borroloola and crossing the Calvert and Robinson Rivers and the border crossing into Queensland. (Basic facilities)

DAY 12 (BLD) HELLS GATE, ADELS GROVE.
We leave Hells Gate and now travel the Queensland part of the Savannah Way to Adel's Grove where we will stay for 2 nights camping. We arrive early afternoon where we can once again enjoy a swim and explore the surrounding area

DAY 13 (BLD) ADELS GROVE, LAWN HILL NATIONAL PARK.
Today we visit Lawn Hill National Park with time to explore this wild life haven perhaps try some canoeing (at own cost) or just relax, then back to Adel's Grove.

DAY 14 (BLD) LAWN HILL NATIONAL PARK, KARUMBA.
Today we start our travels to Burketown then onto Leichardt Falls and on to Karumba for a sunset Dinner Cruise. Over night accommodation in Karumba.

DAY 15 (BLD) KARUMBA, MT SURPRISE.
First up today we visit the Barramundi Discovery Centre to experience the majestic Barramundi. Our next visit is to Normanton and the Purple Pub, then follow the gulf development road to Croydon, then Georgetown where we visit the Terrestrial Centre and onto Mt Surprise for our over night stay in our accommodation (Laundry Facilities)

DAY 16 (B) MT SURPRISE, CAIRNS.
Today we follow the Kennedy Highway to Mt Garnett and then onto the Historic town of Herberton where we explore the History Centre (Lunch at own cost today). We make our way through the Atherton tablelands to Mareeba, down the Kuranda Range to our drop off in Cairns.
